Life’s Challenges We all have them, challenges. Some challenges are just run of the mill, work-home-kids- life challenges. Some are more extreme, a serious health threat, a car accident, death of a loved one. Our human nature tends to rate our own troubles as the worst. Throw a pity party and you will have more that just a few demons rock up to help you feel sorry for yourself and blame everyone from your grandmother to God himself for your hassles. DON’T DO IT! Take it from me – it is a waste of time… The other day I went for a walk with a new friend, I was in the middle of not just one, but a few rather serious challenges and the temptation to feel sorry for myself had been knocking rather hard on the door of my emotions. Well, as we started a light natured conversation that went from this to that she told me about her challenge of a few years ago. She had one of those challenges that are just plain old horrendous and t...

Saturday, 28 January 2012 Tomorrow is Sunday – take it to heart. Saturday, "braai", beach, gardening, washing, shopping, sport… What do you on Saturday? And Sunday? We go to church on Sunday. That’s our choice and our custom. If that’s your way of doing or if you consider to go to church tomorrow even though you have not been there in a while there is one thing we all should do tomorrow. We should listen to the Word from the Bible and “take it to heart”. Do not just listen and feel good, or not, and walk out as if you had a burger at a steak house. Make the Word your own, take time out on Monday to think it over again and let the Lord show you the detailed application of what you heard in you own life. Growing up we sang a song … “Its me, its me, its me o Lord, standing in the need of prayer…. not my mother not my father but its me O Lord …standing in the need of prayer.” And so the song went on through the ...

Mark 4:39 He (Jesus) got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Aah! The beach! Jam packed in summer empty and desolate in winter, or on days like today, when the wind blows the sand into every place imaginable. Ears, nose, hair…. I like the beach when it is like that (no not the sand in my face), I like the quiet. I like the wind, the rough waves that gives a feel of majestic strength, uncontrolled and untamed. Even when I sing out loud, no one hears, except Him to who my song is directed. And no one ever bothers me. I go alone and leave alone, except for Him who never leaves my side. It is then when I think of how Jesus calmed the storm with just a WORD. How HE walked amongst the waves and Peter, brave old Peter. He learned a lesson we all must learn one time or another. Faith only works while your eyes are on the Master. When you look at the sky you will never plant. “Oh God of mercy and ...

INTIMACY WITH HOLY SPIRIT As a prayer foundation, if we do not commune closely with Holy Spirit, how will we know the Father’s heart and what we are to pray? (John 14:16-17, 26) The Word gives us the guidelines and instruction. Pray for leaders, pray for all men. Our pastor/leader gives us the mandate – Pray for various and specific ministries. But, Holy Spirit gives us the assignment for the day and hour, fills in the gaps and colours the picture. SSOM courses: The Person of the Holy Spirit; The Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Prayer Foundation 2: FAITH Without faith it is impossible to please God and he who comes to God must believe . . . (Heb 11:6) We are “coming to God” in prayer. We need to believe that He hears us, He loves us, He leads us and will speak to us and through us, and He will answer our Holy Spirit inspired prayer . He gave us the prayer to pray, so how will He not act on it? (see Rom 4:20) NEWS FLASH! PRAYER WAS GODS IDEA!! He says Ask, and I will answer! I asked myself, why did understanding the Blood Covenant so changed my prayer life....? And realized that the little snippet in part 1 does not say enough to really get you running out to get a teaching series on the topic. Blood Covenant - what is the bottom line? Well, the plan, the design and set up of strategy from Adam to Abraham to Jesus to me. Gods plan of redemption. Secondly - the COVENANT - that is the part that changed the way I pray (cause when I first heard this, I had been praying regularly for a number of years). Understanding the exchange that happens when covenant is cut. It forever changed my prayers from a position of "I have to convince God" to "He has already given me everything I could every think to ask...." NKJV 2 Peter 1:3...as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,... I'm gonna leave it at that for know, please ask questions, or...

Prayer foundations is 9 elements of our Christan faith life that I consider key to effective prayer and intercession. Allow me to share with you one at a time. THE BLOOD OF JESUS The blood of Jesus is our first and utmost important foundation. We never enter the presence of God without the blood of Jesus. Just as the High Priest could not enter the Holy of Holies without blood and prayers were not made without sacrifice (Heb 9:7), so we as priest coming before God, cannot come without blood – the blood of Jesus. Practically speaking, this means we remind ourselves that the blood of Jesus is our right of access to the Father. Thank Father God for sending Jesus and thank Jesus for paying the price that opened the door to the Father (see Matt 27:51, John 10). The blood also represents forgiveness of sin, righteousness and covenant, which are all essential elements in our prayer lives. There are various teachings available on the topic = If you have never studied the blood covenant..G...
