1. Choose your focus group – e.g. Police or area
2. Research their needs, challenges, concerns.
If you choose an area, go for a walk (a prayer walk) look, see and observe, while trusting God to help you see beyond the natural! What do you see? High fences & walls? Un-kept gardens & houses?
For a focus group, put yourself in their shoes and think things through, what is the life of the garbage collector like? How early does he get up to be at work? and does he have hot water to bath when he gets home? If you know someone in your focus group, befriend them and ask a few questions. What is it like to work as a nurse? What would you like me to pray about on your behalf? Is there any concerns that makes doing your work difficult?
3. Find Scriptures for these needs and pray
Pray with faith! If you need to spend time meditating on why we pray, and promises from the WORD (Hebrews 11:6; Romans 10:17)
Ask Holy Spirit!! He prays through us and He is the HELPER (Romans 8:26; John 16:13)
*Pray for salvations (John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4)
*Pray for people – wisdom, guidance, protection (Proverbs 3 & 4; Psalm 91)
*Pray for issues – intervention, resolving situations… (Nehemiah; Moses; Paul)
*Pray the will of God (Matthew 6:10)
